Professor Bill Gaudelli Wins South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education Seat ☆

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

This week, Associate Professor of Social Studies and Education Bill Gaudelli won a seat on the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education. It was a campaign season marked by heated debates and community concerns about leveling, budget cuts and school integration in this culturally diverse, vibrant New Jersey suburb.

Five candidates vied for three seats, with two incumbents battling three challengers (including Gaudelli). The victorious candidates said their win was an endorsement by voters of the Board’s stated goal of closing the achievement gap between black and white students while providing a quality education for all students.

Congratulations, Professor Gaudelli.
