Hollingworth Preschool: Assistant Teaching Positions for the 2011-2012 School Year ☆

Hollingworth Preschool is a program of The Hollingworth Center in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College. The program serves 36 children ages three, four, and five in two half-day sessions. Applications are currently being accepted for assistant teaching positions for the 2011 – 2012 school year.

General Responsibilities:
To work collaboratively with the preschool’s director and teaching faculty to implement the preschool’s child responsive curriculum.

Specific Duties:
Work collaboratively with the head teacher in the day-to-day running of the classroom
Work collaboratively on curriculum design, planning and implementation
Maintain the classroom environment
Attend faculty meetings and professional development workshops

Qualifications:
Experience with young children (formal or informal)
Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching team
Desire to teach young children
Excellent communication skills
Teachers College graduate student
Ability to make a full preschool year, 5 days a week commitment
Hours range from 29-30 hours a week, 8:00-1:15 daily.

Preferred Qualifications:
Classroom teaching experience with young children
Ability to make a two year commitment

Salary:
Salary to be determined; position includes some Teachers College tuition exemption. All positions are part-time.
