“Movers and Makers” Talent Showcase this Wednesday!

“Movers and Makers”

The SAA is proud to present “Movers and Makers,” a talent showcase that will feature visual and performing art. After all, the SAA advocates for the arts because they not only celebrate art, but create it as well. This is a chance for students and alums to showcase their talent and share their enthusiasm for the arts with the rest of the community.

After the positive reception of last year’s inaugural talent showcase, the SAA will once again present an exciting array of artists and their work in Milbank Chapel on Wednesday, March 2nd from 7:30-9, with a reception to follow in the Macy painting studio from 9-10. Come, experience some great performances, and stay for the wine and cheese reception where you can chat with artists and enjoy the visual art exhibit.

Panel discussion on Cross-Disciplinary Advocacy

In late March, the SAA will host a panel discussion on advocacy across the disciplines. The idea is that while the SAA advocates for the arts, advocacy takes place in all different sectors – environment, health, human rights, etc. Because advocacy happens in a variety of arenas, there is much to be learned from one another. The idea of this panel discussion is to get people together to discuss advocacy in general, how it pertains to specific disciplines, and share insight on effective advocacy.
